Natural History: The Blotchy Anthias is found on deepwater reefs in caves and recesses. It has been observed in coelacanth (the living fossil fish) caves.
Husbandry: The Blotchy Anthias is a rare fish in the aquarium trade. It is less aggressive as a juvenile than as an adult. Adults may harass other anthias species in a mixed-anthias tank.
