Natural History: The Tierra Anthias is found in large aggregations on reef dropoffs around cave openings and overhangs. This species forms groups of 20 to 30 mostly female fish, associated with large coral structures. It is often found in mixed-anthias company, with other species such as Lyretails and Cooper's.
Husbandry: The Tierra Anthias thrives best in dim deep-water reef aquaria. It should be housed with other peaceful species. Aggressive tankmates may prevent the Tierra Anthias from feeding. Live brine shrimp may help get picky individuals to acclimate and feed.
